The Night Shift Associate Manufacturing plays a vital role in the on-site manufacturing organization, supporting the production of cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) drug substance in a regulated environment. Working on a rotating night shift schedule, this position focuses on hands-on floor operations in the Services area, ensuring all activities comply with strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Complete all work in accordance with established cGMP procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Procedures (MPs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance requirements.
• Follow proper gowning requirements and aseptic techniques at all times to support a controlled and compliant manufacturing environment.
• Perform hands-on operations on the manufacturing floor, including equipment set-up, cleaning, sanitization, and routine monitoring of equipment and assigned areas.
• Prepare and transfer buffers and media according to defined procedures, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to quality standards.
• Weigh and dispense materials used in the preparation of buffers and media with high attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
• Complete washroom activities, including cleaning and handling equipment ranging from small to large scale that is used in production activities.
• Run and monitor critical manufacturing processes according to assigned procedures, promptly identifying and reporting any deviations or issues.
• Perform documentation activities for assigned functions, including maintaining equipment logs and completing electronic batch records (EBRs) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and workable space, supporting good housekeeping practices and readiness for inspections or audits.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth shift operations and effective handovers, communicating clearly about process status and any concerns.
• Follow detailed work instructions and SOPs consistently, seeking clarification when needed to ensure correct execution of tasks.
• Demonstrate curiosity and a desire to understand the underlying processes and rationale behind procedures, contributing to continuous improvement.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of manufacturing and/or other regulated industry experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience as outlined in qualifications.
• Experience working in a cGMP or other regulated environment, with familiarity in following strict procedures and compliance requirements.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions, SOPs, and manufacturing procedures accurately and consistently.
• Strong attention to detail in performing measurements, documentation, and equipment operations.
• Capability to perform hands-on work, including equipment set-up, cleaning, sanitization, and monitoring in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic understanding of buffer and media preparation, material weighing, and dispensing processes.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation, including equipment logs and electronic batch records (EBRs).
• Reliability and readiness to work a rotating night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a fast-paced production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years of work experience, or an associate degree with at least 6 months of work experience, or a bachelor's degree, as alternative qualification pathways.
• BioWorks certificate or similar training in biomanufacturing or regulated production environments.
• Approximately 1 year of GMP experience is preferred.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, contributing positively to a collaborative work culture.
• Self-starter mindset with motivation, curiosity, and a desire to understand the reasons behind processes and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain a clean, orderly, and inspection-ready workspace.
• Comfort working with manufacturing equipment at various scales, from small tools to large production systems.

Work Environment

This role is fully on-site in a regulated manufacturing facility, working in the Services area and other production spaces that operate under cGMP standards. The position follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule of 12-hour night shifts, typically from 5:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., requiring comfort with extended hours and overnight work. The environment involves hands-on work with manufacturing equipment, buffer and media preparation, washroom activities, and routine cleaning and sanitization. Team members follow strict gowning requirements and aseptic techniques, with appropriate protective attire and compliance with safety procedures. The facility emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and adherence to documented processes, providing a structured setting where reliability, attention to detail, and teamwork are highly valued.

This is a Contract position based out of Holly Springs, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
