NICU RN - Nights (7 PM to 7 AM)

This 200 bed hospital has a state-of-the-art Level 3 Trauma Center / ER with a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Unit, an Express Care area for non-life-threatening emergency cases and cardiac catheterization lab, and is recognized for the exceptional care in cancer surgery, joint replacement, cardiac care, treatment of stroke, breast imaging, sleep medicine, diabetes education and treatment of substance use disorders. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: ED, SICU, MICU, 3 Doctors, Cath Lab, Endo, Labor & Delivery, Nursing Radiology, and SDS within 6 months of hire/transfer; PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer).

Job Details

• Monitor and assess neonatal vital signs, respiratory status, and overall condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, nutrition, and other prescribed treatments.
• Manage ventilators, CPAP, oxygen therapy, and other neonatal equipment.
• Provide feeding, developmental, and comfort care to premature and medically fragile infants.
• Recognize changes in condition and respond promptly to neonatal emergencies.
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, social workers, and other members of the care team.
• Educate and support parents regarding their infant's condition and care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital and NICU safety protocols.
• Provide palliative, comfort, and end-of-life care when appropriate

Work Schedule 7 PM to 7 am ---- 3(12) weekly shifts

NIGHTS VARY, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS

Qualifications

Associate Degree Required or
Bachelor Degree Preferred

Experience:

1 year Med/Surg experience preferred National Certification in area of practice preferred.
Registered Nurse New York - New York State Board of Nursing Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: ED, SICU, MICU, 3 Doctors, Cath Lab, Endo, Labor & Delivery, Nursing Radiology, and SDS within 6 months of hire/transfer; PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer)
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: ED, Nursing Radiology, and SDS (within 6 months of hire/transfer); PACU (within 3 months of hire/transfer
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - American Heart Association Required for the following areas: Labor & Delivery, Mother/Baby, and NICU withing 6 months of hire
