This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke’s Medical Center ofoptimizingthe quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The NICU dietitian functions within the multidisciplinary team to provide nutritional care for all infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This includes nutrition assessment and intervention, education of staff and families, development of policies and procedures, participation in data collection projects, and serving as a consultant to the entire healthcare team. When need arises,willperform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education: Bachelorof Science or Arts and/ormaster's degree in food & nutritionor Dietetics from an accredited college or university.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: RD(Registered Dietician) or RDN (Registered Dietician Nutritionist). CNSC (CertificatedNutrition Support Clinician) or CSP (Certified Specialist Pediatrics)
Experience: Minimumof 2years clinical experience in a NICU preferred.
Special Qualifications: Must be able to speak, read,writeand understand English.
Degree of supervisionrequired: Involvesgeneral guidance and direction by the Clinical Nutrition Manager. Employeeswill be expected to perform most job duties independently andin accordance withestablished departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Ages of Patients Served: Thisposition requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. The employee must be able todemonstratethespecial skillsrequiredto care for patients and their families according to standards. (The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education,trainingor experience.)
