    Job Title: News Producer, Telemundo - WFOX TV

    Position Overview

    WFOX TV Jacksonville is in search of a News Producer for its new Telemundo Jacksonville Spanish language newscast. The ideal candidate consistently crafts in-depth, fast-paced, memorable newscasts. You must be able to own breaking news inside newscasts. In addition, successful candidates must understand coverage on all platforms and are expected to help generate enterprise story ideas.  Collaboration with others is a must for this position, and candidates should be open to feedback and have a desire to grow in their role.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Bilingual with excellent Spanish writing skills.
    • Research, write and edit news stories to ensure they meet quality and ethical standards.
    • Create relevant, important and memorable newscasts
    • Develop graphics for production by Design Department
    • Write Opens, Stories, and Teases
    • Assign stories to anchors, writers, and editors for scripting, production and timing
    • Work closely with news team to create compelling news segments and maintain high production standards.
    • Work in the Control Room during broadcast to oversee presentation and changes in format
    • Understand and effectively use all platforms
    • Ensure all news segments are produced and aired on time and often under tight deadlines.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Must stay abreast on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University in Journalism or Communications preferred
    • Previous experience in local TV news
