Primary Purpose:

To provide supplemental support to campus staff and help promote an organized and safe learning environment in which newcomer students can take full advantage of the Title III-immigrant supplemental support and resources.

Qualifications: Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Paraprofessional Certification

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to work well with children
  • Knowledge of general office equipment including basic computer skills

Experience:

  • At least one year of successful experience as a teacher assistant primarily with clerical duties or other comparable work experience.
  • Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration might find appropriate and acceptable

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist teachers in identifying students eligible for Title III-immigrant supplemental support and
  • Assist students in the identified academic area of most
  • Assist campus in meeting requirements of the Title III-immigrant
  • Assist campus in Title III- immigrant parent involvement activities and
  • Maintain a cooperative and positive attitude as part of a campus
  • Serve as a resource person for campus faculty with regards to Title III-
  • Maintain accurate and current program
  • Perform other duties as assigned by

  • Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times.
