Position Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented undergraduate student with experience in short-form video creation to join the Newcomb-Tulane College's Career Services team as our team as a digital media intern. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on digital media experience in a higher-education environment while contributing to our department's projects.

Job Requirements

  • Hourly pay of $12
  • Work 5-7 hours per week during the academic year. Continuing in this position for the spring semester is contingent on an assessment of the alignment of generated content with NTC Career Services' mission and values after the fall semester.
  • This is a hybrid position with required in-person event attendance for content capture and some meetings with Career Services team members.
  • Work occasional evening hours to assist in documenting programming.

  • Current Tulane University undergraduate student in good academic standing.
  • Experience with video capture and editing.
  • Interest in and some experience with graphic design.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines when creating visual content (or a willingness to learn).
  • Experience with social media platforms, especially Instagram and TikTok.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Express, Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut and/or Canva for video production.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Eager to be behind and in front of the camera.
  • A communicative self-starter who can work both remotely and in-person as needed.
  • Willingness to work occasional campus events outside regular hours.
  • Working knowledge of standard computer programs, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Box.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience as an intern, volunteer, or employee in marketing or communications for a business, nonprofit, community or student organization.
  • Coursework in video communications, marketing, design, photography and related disciplines.
  • Capture content and produce videos for the Career Services team with direction from the marketing and communications specialist, using Adobe Express, CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro or other similar platforms.
  • Assist in building and organizing the office's videography archives, including capturing b-roll at events.
  • Stay current on social media trends and suggest timely, relevant content ideas.
  • Support with basic digital design needs.
  • Perform other communications-related tasks as assigned.
