The Oregon State Public Health Laboratory, Newborn Screening Section, located in Hillsboro, Oregon has a career opportunity for a Newborn Screening Follow-Up Office Specialist (Office Specialist 2) to ensure timely reporting and appropriate follow-up of newborn screening test results, according to established procedures.
The Oregon State Public Health Laboratory (OSPHL) has been actively protecting the public's health since 1903 by supporting state and local infectious disease control efforts, preventing metabolic disorders detectable at birth, and assuring the quality of testing in clinical and environmental laboratories.

This announcement is for one, full-time, permanent, SEIU represented, Newborn Screening Follow-Up Office Specialist (Office Specialist 2) based in Hillsboro, Oregon.
This is an in-office position. "Review Section 4: Working Conditions" in the position description (linked above) for more information.
The work is performed five days per week from 8am to 4:30pm, on-site at the Oregon State Public Health Laboratory, located at 7202 NE Evergreen Pkwy, Hillsboro, OR 97124. After training is complete, this position must be available to work on Saturdays. Extensive computer use, often for long hours and eventually regular phone use. This position is considered essential and may be required to work during inclement weather or other hazardous conditions.
Employment is contingent upon a criminal records check that meets OHA criteria at the time of hire and throughout employment.
The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying range. If the successful candidate qualifies for PERS, the salary range will increase by 6.95%. For more information, see the Classification and Compensation page.
