The Elite Nanny Team is recruiting a loving, energetic, and experienced Newborn Care Specialist or Infant Nanny for a wonderful family in Washington, DC. This full-time nanny position focuses exclusively on caring for a 2-month-old infant, supporting healthy development, and establishing positive daily routines.

The family wants a knowledgeable, hands-on nanny who understands infant developmental milestones and enjoys teaching babies through interactive play, sensory exploration, music, reading, and nurturing engagement.

No housekeeping or cleaning responsibilities! Your attention will remain focused on the baby's safety, happiness, learning, and development.

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Professional experience as a Newborn Care Specialist, Infant Specialist, or full-time infant nanny.
• Strong knowledge of infant development, feeding schedules, sleep routines, and developmental milestones.
• Experience introducing healthy, age-appropriate sleep habits and supporting independent sleep when developmentally appropriate.
• Understanding of introducing solid foods around 6 months when the baby demonstrates readiness, and eventually transitioning from bottle feeding.
• Infant CPR and First Aid certification.
• Patient, affectionate, energetic personality with excellent communication skills.
• Excellent professional references and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

Nanny Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, affectionate, one-on-one infant care throughout the workday.
• Establish consistent feeding, nap, and developmentally appropriate sleep routines while following safe sleep guidelines.
• Encourage tummy time, reaching, grasping, rolling, and other early motor skills.
• Introduce engaging sensory activities, colorful toys, books, music, and interactive learning.
• Support emerging communication through conversation, singing, and reading.
• As the baby grows, encourage crawling, standing, cruising, and eventually walking through safe, age-appropriate activities.
• Introduce soft foods and self-feeding skills when developmentally appropriate and approved by the parents and pediatrician.
• Support a gradual transition from bottles to cups as the child matures.
• Communicate daily with parents regarding feeding, sleeping, developmental progress, and milestones.
