Position Overview
The Area Manager is responsible for leading a portfolio of Diptyque stores to achieve sales growth, operational excellence, and a consistently elevated client experience. This role partners closely with Store Managers to drive performance, develop talent, and ensure alignment with brand standards and strategic goals. The Area Manager serves as a key liaison between store teams, the Regional Sales Director, and cross-functional partners, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
· Drive top-line sales and profitability across all stores in the area
· Analyze business performance and develop actionable strategies to meet or exceed targets
· Lead new product launches and ensure successful execution at store level
· Monitor inventory needs and partner with allocation teams to support business demands
· Share best practices and ensure consistent execution across locations
Talent Leadership & Development
· Recruit, onboard, and retain top talent across the area
· Partner with Store Managers to build high-performing teams and succession plans
· Conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews
· Foster an inclusive and inspiring work environment aligned with Diptyque's values
· Support training initiatives and ensure ongoing development of store teams
Client Experience
· Champion Diptyque's signature service and selling ceremony across all stores
· Coach teams on clienteling strategies and CRM utilization
· Ensure stores meet or exceed client experience evaluation goals
· Support omnichannel initiatives and ensure teams are trained on tools and expectations
Marketing & Events
· Partner with retail marketing to plan and execute in-store events
· Monitor competitive activity and share insights with leadership
· Support local marketing efforts for new store openings and activations
New Store Openings
· Collaborate with regional and cross-functional teams to support new store openings
· Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training of new store teams
· Coordinate inventory delivery, merchandising setup, and operational readiness
· Ensure successful launches aligned with brand standards and client experience expectations
Operations & Visual Merchandising
· Ensure operational standards and brand guidelines are consistently upheld
· Oversee inventory management, shrinkage control, and safety compliance
· Maintain high visual merchandising standards across all locations
· Partner with Store Managers to resolve operational challenges and implement solutions
Compliance & Policy Adherence
· Ensure all stores operate in alignment with company policies, labor laws, and safety standards
· Partner with HR on employee relations matters, documentation, and performance management
· Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of required documentation
Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
· Act as a key partner to the Regional Sales Director in shaping regional strategy and priorities
· Collaborate with HR, Marketing, Training, and Operations to support business needs
· Provide insights and feedback from the field to inform corporate initiatives and decision-making
Qualifications & Skills
· Minimum 3 years of luxury retail store management experience
· Minimum 2 years of multi-unit management experience
· Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
· Proven ability to lead remote teams and drive results
· Strong business acumen and analytical skills
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
· Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
