Build Your Career in Automotive Inventory Strategy at Walser

We're hiring a New Vehicle Inventory Analyst to help shape the inventory strategy behind some of our high-performing dealerships. This is a role where your analysis directly influences what vehicles we stock, how we price them, and how we position our stores to compete in the market. You'll work closely with General Managers, OEM partners, and dealership teams to make data-driven inventory decisions that help sell more vehicles while protecting gross profit and maximizing return on investment.

At Walser, we're committed to investing in our people. We foster a culture built on family, career growth, diversity, and opportunity. With more than 60 years of automotive retail experience and a family-owned approach to business, you'll have the opportunity to build your expertise while making a measurable impact across our dealerships.

Who We're Looking For

If you're the person who builds the spreadsheet nobody asked for because you saw a pattern in the numbers, keep reading.

We're looking for an analytical thinker who enjoys turning data into decisions. You'll spend your time evaluating inventory mix, pricing, market share, aging inventory, vehicle allocations, and customer demand—and then using that information to determine what needs to change. Strong Excel skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate your recommendations effectively are critical to success in this role.

You don't need to simply understand the numbers—you need to understand what the numbers are telling you. The best person for this role can identify gaps and imbalances, anticipate future customer interest, recognize opportunities in the market, and confidently recommend a course of action to dealership leadership.

The Opportunity

You own the inventory strategy for your assigned stores. Not the paperwork behind someone else's decisions—the actual decisions.

You'll use proprietary and market data to shape inventory, manage pricing, evaluate aging units, influence vehicle orders and allocations, and identify opportunities to outperform the market. You'll partner directly with General Managers and OEMs to make strategic decisions around what to stock, what to price, what to trade, and when to adjust course.

  • Base salary: $55,000
  • Performance incentive: Tied to how your inventory performs — when your calls are right, you see it
  • Paid training: Multi-week program at Walser Toyota, fully paid, before placement
  • Tools: Proprietary Walser inventory data plus market tools like Urban Science Market Master
  • Growth: We promote from within — this seat sits close to the business and opens doors into inventory leadership, operations, and general management

What You'll Do

  • Shape, price, and measure a market-driven inventory for each assigned store
  • Review pricing daily against the weekly matrix and monthly gross profit goals, accounting for all “Day 1”
    inventory
  • Recommend inventory-based marketing strategies to the GM using market data
  • Continuously evaluate the inventory and decide how to close gaps, fix imbalances, and anticipate what
    customers will want next
  • Audit inventory counts against ground stock and incoming units — trim shortages, color gaps, hold status
  • Manage aging inventory using proven practices that minimize carrying costs
  • Monitor market share and keep the GM tracking against pace
  • Be the fast, accurate answer for sales staff on inventory, dealer trades, sold and priority orders, and pricing
    questions
  • Handle the paperwork cleanly — DMS sign-out, OEM portal tagging, real VINs and stock numbers priced before
    they hit the ground
  • Uphold Walser's Core Values: Do The Right Thing, Lead By Example, Display Positive Energy, Be Open Minded
    What You Bring
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel — this is the daily tool, not a line on a résumé
  • Above-average analytical skills and the stamina to do focused analytical work for long stretches
  • The ability to hold your focus through constant interruptions and still hit deadlines accurately
  • Clear communication with GMs, sales staff, and OEM partners
  • Willingness to learn DMS and OEM ordering systems (we'll train you if you haven't used them)
  • Comfort owning a high-volume store or a complex OEM when it comes to ordering, pricing, and build configurations

What's In It For You

  • Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • HSA and FSA access
  • Company-paid life insurance
  • 401(k) with Employer Match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Fertility & Adoption Assistance: Up to $10,000
  • Paid Clothing Program: Curated branded Walser apparel twice a year — on us
  • Employee Discounts
  • Referral bonuses
  • Employee Resource Groups
  • Walser Foundation community involvement
