    Job Title: New/ Used Lot Attendant
    POSITION SUMMARY
    The Lot Attendant (Porter) is responsible for maintaining the appearance, organization, security, and operational readiness of dealership inventory and facilities. This position supports Sales, Service, Parts, and Management by moving vehicles, organizing inventory, performing vehicle inspections, assisting with deliveries, and ensuring dealership grounds remain clean, safe, and customer-ready.
    The Lot Attendant plays a key role in maintaining a professional dealership image and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Vehicle Inventory Management
    • Receive and inspect incoming vehicles for damage, missing equipment, and accuracy of delivery documentation.
    • Compare vehicle identification numbers (VINs) and stock information against shipping and inventory records.
    • Document and report vehicle damage, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
    • Assign stock numbers and inventory control tags as required.
    • Maintain accurate vehicle location records.
    • Park vehicles in designated inventory locations according to dealership procedures.
    • Organize inventory to maximize lot efficiency and vehicle visibility.
    • Move vehicles as directed by management.
    Vehicle Preparation & Delivery Support
    • Transport sold vehicles for preparation and delivery.
    • Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and properly staged for customer delivery.
    • Assist sales and service departments with vehicle movement.
    • Deliver vehicles between dealership locations when authorized.
    • Assist with demonstration vehicle preparation.
    • Verify vehicle readiness before customer delivery.
    Lot Appearance & Maintenance
    • Maintain dealership lot appearance and organization.
    • Ensure inventory displays meet dealership standards.
    • Remove debris, trash, snow, ice, and other hazards from dealership grounds.
    • Assist with lot maintenance and facility appearance.
    • Monitor vehicle placement to maximize merchandising effectiveness.
    • Ensure inventory remains clean and presentable.
    Vehicle Protection & Security
    • Monitor vehicle condition while in dealership inventory.
    • Maintain battery charge levels and tire pressure on stored vehicles.
    • Protect vehicles from damage and deterioration.
    • Ensure vehicles remain locked and secured when not in use.
    • Maintain key inventory and key security procedures.
    • Report safety concerns, damage, or theft immediately.
    Service & Operations Support
    • Assist Service Department with vehicle transportation and staging.
    • Shuttle vehicles between departments as needed.
    • Support inventory audits and lot organization projects.
    • Assist with special events, vehicle displays, and dealership promotions.
    • Perform routine operational tasks assigned by management.
    Safety & Compliance
    • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures.
    • Operate vehicles safely and responsibly.
    • Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
    • Immediately report accidents, damage, or safety concerns.
    • Follow all company vehicle operation guidelines.
    Additional Responsibilities
    • Maintain professional appearance and conduct.
    • Provide courteous assistance to customers when appropriate.
    • Support dealership teamwork and customer satisfaction efforts.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
     
    Supervisory Responsibilities
    This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications
    Education & Experience
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
    • Previous automotive dealership experience preferred but not required.
    • Previous customer service, porter, valet, warehouse, or transportation experience helpful.
    • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.

    • Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles preferred.
    • Strong attention to detail.

    Licenses & Certifications
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
    • Ability to qualify under Viva Auto Group's insurance requirements.
     
    Physical Requirements
    • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping, and climbing.
    • Frequent entering and exiting vehicles.
    • Ability to drive vehicles throughout the workday.
    • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver vehicles when necessary.

    • Primarily outdoor dealership environment.
    • Exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, snow, and varying weather conditions.
    • Exposure to moving vehicles and equipment.
    • Fast-paced automotive dealership setting.
