Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
The Orientation Leader (OL) is a student leader who serves as a welcoming and supportive peer mentor for incoming Long Island University students and their families during Orientation programs and Admissions events. OLs play a vital role in creating a positive first impression of LIU by helping new students feel connected, informed, and excited to join Shark Nation.
OLs are responsible for assisting with Orientation programming, facilitating small group discussions and activities, supporting event logistics, and serving as a resource to new students throughout the transition process. This position is designed for enthusiastic student leaders who are passionate about student engagement, school spirit, and helping others.

Working Conditions:
Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required to properly execute the position's role. Travel to/from other LIU campuses for the facilitation of training, meetings and other university functions is required.
