    Position Summary:
    Jax Spine & Pain Centers is seeking a compassionate, organized, and customer-focused New Patient Coordinator to join our growing team. As the first point of contact for prospective patients, you will play a critical role in creating a positive patient experience by guiding individuals through the intake and scheduling process. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


    Key Responsibilities:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all new patient inquiries via phone, email, and electronic referrals.
    • Schedule new patient appointments while ensuring provider availability and appropriate appointment types.
    • Obtain and accurately enter patient demographic, insurance, and referral information into the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Verify insurance eligibility and determine referral and authorization requirements.
    • Explain practice policies, appointment expectations, and required documentation to patients.
    • Coordinate receipt of medical records, imaging, and referral documentation prior to appointments.
    • Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and referral sources to facilitate timely patient scheduling.
    • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations.
    • Respond promptly to patient questions and resolve scheduling concerns with professionalism and empathy.
    • Monitor referral work queues and follow up on pending referrals to ensure timely patient access.
    • Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned.


    Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of medical scheduling, patient access, call center, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
    • Experience with electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks experience preferred).
    • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, referrals, and prior authorizations preferred.
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
