Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a New Model Program Engineer for a Contract with a client in Allen Park, MI. The ideal candidate is responsible for managing and coordinating new vehicle and powertrain launch activities, ensuring successful execution of pre-production builds, issue resolution, and program delivery milestones.

Rate Range: $30/hour to $32/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

New Model Program Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate new vehicle and powertrain launch programs, ensuring successful execution of program milestones, timelines, budgets, and quality objectives.

  • Manage pre-production build activities, vehicle fleet testing, and launch readiness processes to support seamless transition into manufacturing operations.

  • Drive issue management activities by tracking, escalating, and resolving cross-functional launch issues that may impact program delivery.

  • Oversee engineering change management and design change approval processes to ensure product readiness before prototype and production builds.

  • Prepare and present program status reports, risk assessments, launch metrics, and executive updates to leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, product development, and operations teams to support plant integration, launch execution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 1-4 years of experience in Program Management, Vehicle Operations, Manufacturing, Product Development, Launch Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.

  • Experience supporting new vehicle or powertrain launch activities, including pre-production builds, issue management, engineering change coordination, and manufacturing readiness.

  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills with experience using Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and cross-functional collaboration to track risks, resolve issues, and support successful program execution.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $32.00 per hour
