Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a Neurosciences Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant) will provide direct patient care services for critically ill complex (multi-organ) patients in an acute care setting in collaboration with Neuro ICU Teams/Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Neuro IR attendings. The NP/PA performs physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, coordinates the care and discharge of patients, and provides direct patient care services. The NP/PA contributes to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, and provides leadership to the organization.  This role will actively participate in neurovascular research, to further improve patient outcomes. This position reports directly to the Director of the Neuroscience Service Line. This position must also maintain a close working relationship with staff in all departments including physicians serving the Neuro-trauma, Neuro-ICU, neurology, Neuro intervention and Neurosurgical program. This position will meet the requirements of the facility nursing services matrix to meet professional aspects and regulatory issues and scope of practice.

Qualified Candidates:
  • Recent experience in Neuroscience/Stroke Service Line preferred
  • Effective front-line supervision, word processing/spreadsheet, time management, clinical proficiency, Title XXII, Quality Improvement
  • Prefer Completion of Neurosciences Fellowship but willing to train
  • Proficiency in IR/NIR and ability to do theracentis, paracenstis and LP etc.
