Network Security Engineer

This role provides subject matter expertise in firewall management, cloud security, secure connectivity, Zero Trust architectures, SD-WAN, and network operations while ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the organization's infrastructure. Strong hands-on experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA), security policy management, VPNs, and network access controls.

Job Description/ Responsibilities
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise network security solutions across global environments. This role provides subject matter expertise in firewall management, cloud security, secure connectivity, Zero Trust architectures, SD-WAN, and network operations while ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the organization's infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support security initiatives, major transformation programs, and day-to-day operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

Network Security Operations
Manage and support next-generation firewalls, web proxy solutions, and network security platforms.
Design, implement, and maintain security policies, NAT rules, VPN configurations, and access controls.
Perform firewall rule reviews, policy optimization, and security audits.
Monitor network traffic and investigate security incidents, vulnerabilities, and performance issues.
Provide L2/L3 support for complex network and security-related incidents and escalations.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Network Infrastructure Management
Support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and data center network environments.
Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching technologies including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, and QoS.
Manage VPN technologies, load balancers, proxy solutions, and network access control systems.
Support network migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives

Security Engineering
Implement Zero Trust and secure access solutions, including Zscaler ZIA and ZPA.
Manage Palo Alto firewalls and related security services.
Support Cisco ISE, NAC, AAA, and identity-aware access controls.
Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and industry frameworks.
Assist in vulnerability remediation and security hardening activities

Project & Transformation Support
Participate in network modernization, cloud migration, and security transformation programs.
Lead technical implementation activities and provide guidance during large-scale deployments.
Collaborate with architects, security teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Develop HLDs, LLDs, SOPs, operational runbooks, and knowledge-transfer documentation.

Expertise in routing and switching, LAN/WAN technologies, SD-WAN, wireless networking, and core protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
