IS3 is seeking an experienced Network Performance Engineer with deep expertise in Netscout technologies to join its Denver-based infrastructure team. This role is critical to maintaining the health and performance of the client's enterprise network, supporting day-to-day infrastructure operations, and designing and implementing advanced dashboards that provide real-time visibility into network performance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on Netscout experience, a strong foundation in network engineering, and a knack for translating data into actionable visual insights.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Support

  • Monitor, support, and troubleshoot the client's enterprise network infrastructure using Netscout nGeniusONE and InfiniStream platforms
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Netscout tools, providing Tier 2/3 support for network performance incidents
  • Identify and resolve network anomalies, packet loss, latency, and application performance degradation
  • Collaborate with NOC, network engineering, and applications teams to correlate performance data and drive root-cause analysis
  • Maintain and optimize Netscout probe and InfiniStream appliance deployments across key network segments
  • Support change management activities, ensuring network changes are validated with pre/post performance comparisons

Dashboard Design & Implementation

  • Design, build, and maintain real-time performance dashboards within nGeniusONE and other visualization platforms (e.g., Grafana, Splunk, or similar)
  • Translate network KPIs and SLA metrics into intuitive, executive-ready dashboards for IT leadership and operations teams
  • Develop custom views, reports, and alerts that enable proactive identification of performance trends and capacity issues
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and iterate dashboard designs based on operational feedback
  • Document dashboard standards, data sources, and refresh processes for ongoing maintainability

General Engineering Responsibilities

  • Participate in capacity planning and performance baselining efforts
  • Contribute to network architecture discussions, providing performance data to support infrastructure investment decisions
  • Author and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation
  • Support on-call rotation and participate in major incident response as needed

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Netscout platforms (nGeniusONE, InfiniStream, nGenius Pulse, or ASI)
  • Strong working knowledge of network protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VLANs
  • Experience with packet capture analysis and deep packet inspection (DPI) tools
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement network performance dashboards
  • Proficiency troubleshooting Layer 2–7 network issues in large enterprise or service provider environments
  • Experience with SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, and syslog integration for monitoring and alerting
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to present technical findings to non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a cable, telecom, or large ISP/MSO environment
  • Familiarity with additional monitoring tools: SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Grafana, or AppDynamics
  • Scripting/automation skills (Python, Ansible, or Bash) to enhance monitoring workflows
  • Cisco CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent industry certification
  • Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), or hybrid network environments
  • Knowledge of ITSM platforms (ServiceNow) and ITIL processes

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Denver, Colorado. Candidates are expected to be onsite at the client's Denver offices 3–4 days per week. Remote work is permitted on remaining days. Candidates must be local to the Denver metro area or willing to relocate prior to start date.
