We are seeking a Network Infrastructure & Office Buildout Engineer to support our Real Estate and corporate office initiatives. This role will serve as a technical partner responsible for the design, planning, deployment, and oversight of network and low-voltage infrastructure for new office builds, office conversions, and migrations.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with office technology infrastructure, including telecommunications rooms, network closets, structured cabling, power and UPS requirements, rack layouts, patch management, circuit installation, and conference room technology. While this is not primarily a traditional network configuration role, the successful candidate will have a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and be comfortable troubleshooting connectivity issues during office cutovers and migrations.
This individual will work closely with internal Real Estate, IT, and Network teams, as well as external vendors and service providers, to ensure office technology spaces are properly designed, built, tested, and ready for occupancy.
Office Buildouts & Infrastructure
Partner with the Real Estate organization to support new office builds, office conversions, expansions, and relocations.
Review and validate site surveys to ensure technology infrastructure requirements are accurately identified and addressed.
Design and oversee network/telecommunications closet buildouts, including:Rack and cabinet placement
Rack elevation diagrams
Power and electrical receptacle requirements
UPS/battery backup requirements
Cooling and environmental requirements
Structured cabling and fiber requirements
Patch panels and patch management
Cable pathways and labeling
Ensure network closets and technology spaces meet organizational standards and are properly prepared for installation and operation.
Review low-voltage designs and oversee structured cabling installations with contractors and partners.
Support conference room and collaboration-space buildouts, including associated network, cabling, power, and technology infrastructure.
Circuits & Service Provider Coordination
Work with telecommunications and network service providers to order, coordinate, and oversee circuit installations and turn-ups.
Track circuit orders and installation schedules through completion.
Coordinate with vendors and partners to resolve installation issues and ensure services are delivered according to project requirements.
Validate circuit handoffs and connectivity prior to office cutover.
Office Migrations & Cutovers
Serve as the technical lead or primary infrastructure resource for office migrations, moves, and network cutovers.
Develop and execute migration and cutover plans in coordination with internal teams and external partners.
Coordinate the installation and readiness of network infrastructure prior to cutover.
Provide on-site or remote technical support during cutover activities.
Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues and coordinate escalation to the appropriate network engineering teams when required.
Ensure all infrastructure is documented and operational before and after migration activities.
Network & Technical Support
Apply a working knowledge of networking fundamentals, LAN/WAN connectivity, routing, switching, firewalls, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, and related technologies.
Provide basic troubleshooting support for routing, switching, firewall, and connectivity issues during deployments and cutovers.
Fortinet/FortiGate experience is preferred, particularly for troubleshooting or validating firewall connectivity during office migrations.
Partner with Network Engineering and other IT teams when configuration changes or advanced troubleshooting are required.
Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, including diagrams, rack elevations, circuit information, cabling information, and site documentation.
Project & Vendor Management
Work collaboratively with Real Estate, Facilities, IT, Network Engineering, Security, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate vendors, contractors, and technology partners throughout the lifecycle of office projects.
Monitor project milestones, identify risks and dependencies, and communicate status to stakeholders.
Review vendor proposals, designs, and deliverables for technical accuracy and compliance with standards.
Ensure projects are completed on time and meet established infrastructure and technology requirements.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in network infrastructure, IT infrastructure, telecommunications, low-voltage systems, or a related field.
Hands-on experience supporting office buildouts, relocations, migrations, or technology infrastructure deployments.
Strong understanding of:Structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure
Network/telecommunications closet design
Rack and rack elevation planning
Patch panels and patch management
Fiber and copper cabling
Power and electrical requirements
UPS/battery backup systems
Cooling and environmental requirements for network closets
Experience reviewing site surveys, construction plans, or technology infrastructure designs.
Experience coordinating with telecommunications providers and managing circuit ordering, installation, and turn-up.
Experience working with vendors, contractors, and third-party service providers.
Working knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs, switching, routing, firewalls, DHCP, and DNS.
Strong project coordination, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple office projects and work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience/knowledge with Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls.
Experience supporting enterprise office migrations and network cutovers.
Experience with conference room technology infrastructure and collaboration spaces.
Experience with enterprise structured cabling standards and low-voltage contractors.
Familiarity with rack elevation and network infrastructure diagramming tools.
Experience working in corporate real estate, facilities, construction, or workplace technology environments.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+, Fortinet certifications, or equivalent experience.
Key Success Factors
The successful candidate will be someone who can look at an office space and understand what is required to make the technology infrastructure deployment successful from the ground up. They should be comfortable reviewing site surveys, identifying infrastructure gaps, working with vendors, overseeing closet and cabling buildouts, coordinating circuits, and ultimately ensuring that an office is technically ready for migration and occupancy.
This role is best suited for an engineer who combines networking knowledge with hands-on infrastructure, office buildout, vendor management, and project execution experience.
