Network & Infrastructure Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for modernizing and automating the firm's network security infrastructure, with a primary focus on codifying Palo Alto firewall configurations using Terraform and building robust CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes. Our client, a leading global asset management firm, is seeking a Network & Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in New York, NY!

In this role, you will be responsible for modernizing and automating the firm's network security infrastructure, with a primary focus on codifying Palo Alto firewall configurations using Terraform and building robust CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes. 

Responsibilities:

• Design, write, and maintain Terraform code to manage Palo Alto Networks firewall configurations as infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing, review, and deployment of firewall rule changes.
• Audit, rationalize, and remediate existing firewall rules to improve security posture and reduce complexity.
• Manage and optimize Palo Alto transit architectures, including Panorama and hub-spoke network designs.
• Collaborate with network, security, and platform teams to enforce consistent infrastructure standards.
• Develop documentation and runbooks for network automation processes and pipelines.
• Identify and drive opportunities to further expand infrastructure-as-code practices across the network stack.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including use of the Palo Alto Networks Terraform provider.
• Deep familiarity with Palo Alto Networks products — PAN-OS, Panorama, and VM-Series firewalls.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Solid understanding of network security fundamentals — firewall rules, NAT, routing, and segmentation.
• Experience working in large-scale, enterprise-grade infrastructure environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP (Transit Gateway, vWAN, etc.).
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance requirements common in financial services.
• Experience with GitOps methodologies for infrastructure management.
• Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSE or equivalent) a plus.

Pay Rate: $75.00 - $95.00/hr
