Network Operations Engineer (2nd Shift)

Job Type: Remote, Contract (12 months)

Pay Range: $63-68 per hour

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer to support and protect a large-scale, global network environment that powers mission-critical customer applications around the world. This is a hands-on operations role focused on real-time network monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and network reliability.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, multitasking environment, can effectively prioritize competing issues, and has a strong work ethic with a security-first mindset. This position offers the opportunity to work with a global infrastructure spanning approximately 500 locations worldwide while leveraging modern automation, observability, and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, administer, and manage day-to-day network operations for a global enterprise environment.
  • Monitor network performance, connectivity, system events, and alerts in real time.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues, driving incidents through to resolution with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Create, implement, and validate network changes.
  • Support mission-critical applications and services across a global network infrastructure.
  • Navigate outages and service disruptions while maintaining operational stability.
  • Manage support tickets and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Handle network incidents and operational challenges originating from sites worldwide.
  • Utilize network monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify potential issues.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team discussions, demos, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with teammates in a highly dynamic and multitasking environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in DevOps, Network Operations, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting operational network environments.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Comfortable implementing solutions utilizing automation, observability, and security principles.
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully in Agile environments.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and multitasking skills.
  • Security-first attitude and commitment to operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA certification or equivalent Cisco networking experience.
  • Experience with network monitoring and observability tools such as SolarWinds, Riverbed, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working in 24/7 operations or network monitoring environments.
  • Exposure to software engineering, automation, AI, or scripting technologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise network infrastructures.

Work Schedule

  • Primary schedule: 2:00 PM - 11:00 PM EST with a 1-hour lunch.

  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed.

  • Potential schedules include:

  • Saturday - Wednesday

  • Wednesday - Sunday

  • Initial training will be conducted on 1st Shift (6:00 AM - 3:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday) before transitioning to the permanent 2nd Shift schedule.
