Candidate Requirements- Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to South Carolina before starting, at their own expense.
- Must be a US Citizen or Legal Resident.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must be able to participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours maintenance/incident response. On-campus response may be required.
Responsibilities- Monitor, maintain, and support enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructure, including switching, routing, and connectivity services.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Fortinet network devices.
- Diagnose network connectivity, performance, and security issues through monitoring, analysis, root-cause investigation, and field troubleshooting.
- Install and deploy network equipment, including configuring, racking, stacking, cabling, and testing switches.
- Support routing technologies including OSPF, BGP, VLANs, spanning tree, and high-availability architectures.
- Support network security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and related security controls.
- Perform network upgrades, patching, configuration changes, maintenance, and performance optimization.
- Maintain network diagrams, operational documentation, incident records, and runbooks.
- Coordinate with network engineering, architecture, security, infrastructure teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Participate in incident response, escalation, on-call support, and service restoration activities.
Required Skills- 2+ years enterprise networking experience with switching, routing, wireless networking, and TCP/IP.
- 2+ years configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, AND Fortinet network devices.
- 2+ years diagnosing and resolving network connectivity, performance, and security-related issues.
- 2+ years network security experience involving firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and security best practices.
- 2+ years installing and supporting network infrastructure, including hands-on racking, stacking, cabling, and testing.
- 2+ years maintaining technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational records.
- 2+ years working with OSPF, BGP, VLANs, spanning tree, and high-availability architectures.
Preferred Skills- Large-scale enterprise or higher education network experience.
- Wireless network administration and troubleshooting in dense-user environments.
- Firewalls, VPNs, NAC, and multi-factor authentication solutions.
- Network monitoring, logging, and performance management tools.
- Network automation or scripting using Python, Ansible, and APIs.
- Network upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle replacement projects.
- ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management environments.
- Experience mentoring junior technical staff and providing technical leadership during operational incidents.
