Description

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing professional services firm in New York, NY, for an experienced Network Engineer to join their IT infrastructure team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a multi-site network environment supporting a fast-paced consulting organization, working with modern routing, switching, and security technologies while helping shape the network roadmap as the firm scales.

Day to day, you will split time between hands-on infrastructure work, project-based upgrades, and collaborating with colleagues across IT and the business to keep systems fast, secure, and reliable. Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure across multiple office locations
  • Monitor network performance and proactively resolve connectivity, latency, and security issues
  • Manage firewalls, VPNs, routers, and switches to ensure secure and reliable connectivity
  • Lead network upgrade and migration projects with minimal disruption to business operations
  • Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with IT security to implement and audit network access controls
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network systems
  • Evaluate new networking technologies and recommend improvements to leadership
  • Provide escalated technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff
  • Coordinate with vendors and ISPs on circuit provisioning and issue resolution

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or network administration
  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching equipment
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configuration
  • Experience with firewall management and VPN configuration
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
  • CCNA or higher certification preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-site or hybrid office network environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure during outages
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field preferred
