Company
Our client is an established technology solutions and managed services firm serving the New York metropolitan region. They work on network infrastructure projects and multi-year programs for enterprise clients in the Mid-Hudson and Western CT region, and they are building a dedicated on-site team. You would join as a full-time W-2 employee of our client.

Compensation
Base salary of $110,000 - $135,000 per year, depending on experience. Full-time W-2 employment with medical, dental, and retirement benefits.

Job Location
On site in Putnam County, New York (Hudson Valley) and Western Connecticut. Travel between campuses is expected. This role is not remote.

Role Summary
You will be the senior technical voice on a multi-year network infrastructure program for a large regional health system. The program centers on a large-scale network re-engineering effort across hospital, clinic, and administrative sites. Work runs across multiple campuses, in Putnam County, New York and Western Connecticut. Clinical environments run around the clock, so cutover work happens inside tight, planned maintenance windows.

You will design the network addressing scheme and cutover approach for assigned sites, lead the complex changes yourself, and review the work of other engineers before it goes live. You will also be the escalation point when something breaks at two in the morning inside a maintenance window.

This is a single opening, and it is the most senior engineering seat on the program team.

Responsibilities

• Design the network addressing scheme and cutover approach for assigned sites, and review other engineers’ work before it goes live.
• Lead complex routing, switching, wireless, and firewall changes during maintenance windows.
• Serve as the top escalation point for network problems the rest of the team cannot resolve.
• Build and maintain the technical documentation set: address plans, topology diagrams, standards, and runbooks.
• Evaluate tools and platforms, recommend changes, and run post-implementation reviews to confirm the result held.
• Coach the Level 2 engineers and raise the technical floor of the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and work experience.
• Three to five or more years of direct enterprise network engineering experience.
• Deep working knowledge of routing, switching, wireless, and firewall technology at enterprise scale.
• Demonstrated ownership of medium to large network projects from design through cutover.
• Availability for scheduled maintenance windows, including nights and weekends.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional preferred. Health system network experience is a plus.
