    Description

    Thin Technologies is a fast-growing Professional Services Provider that offers Enterprise-grade IT architecture, engineering, and deployment services to both US-based and global partners.  With our Consulting practice currently experiencing accelerated growth, we are seeking to fill a position for Network Engineer II/III – Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN & Secure Edge.  The position is Remote/Telecommuter but may require occasional travel to Ohio for on-site activities.  Typical individual contract terms are 3-6mos with potential for extension, subsequent contracts, or offer of full-time employment.
    Contract Terms:
    • Pay range is $70-90/hr DOE
    • 1099 or W2 Contract

    Description:
    Network Engineer II/III – Responsible for executing the Design, Implement, Operationalize, Test, and Handoff phases of enterprise-grade infrastructure projects;  Works collaboratively with the Architect(s) and Project Managers to align delivered artifacts to agreed upon scope items for each project;  Maintains a regular business hours schedule and is generally available between 8am-5pm CST;  Occasionally performs critical tasks outside of regular hours and/or on weekends in adherence of customer change window restrictions;  

    Responsibilities/Expectations:
    • Efficiently build mid-level and low-level network design artifacts based on provided reference architectures
    • Effectively participate in regular project status and planning meetings
    • Actively engage in solution development working sessions, providing valuable insights to industry trends and practical, real-world application of technologies
    • Perform specific task creation, prioritization, tracking, and follow-through actions
    • Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Test various enterprise-grade network technology solutions
    • Provide appropriate, accurate, and timely written communications to all project personnel
    • Lead comprehensive technical knowledge transfer activities, training, etc..
    • Successful candidates will have a ‘self-starter’ approach, performing significant amounts of work autonomously.
    • Successful candidates will exhibit a strong Team Player sentiment and collaborative approach
    • Formal attestation of a secure and stable remote working environment is required
    • Must be able to pass a background check
    • Must be US Citizen

    Relevant Certifications (not required):
    • Cisco CCNP ENCOR or equivalent (JNCIS, ACE L5)

    Required Skills:
    • 5+ years of experience working within Enterprise-grade network environments
    • 2+ years of experience working in conjunction with a formal Project Management Organization
    • Strong knowledge of the Cisco Catalyst Edge Routing Platforms and Catalyst (fka Viptela) SD-WAN architectures and configurations
    • Familiarity with the Cisco Secure Edge UTD Platforms and TrustSec architectures and configurations
    • Understanding of customizable prefix propagation techniques using BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
    • General knowledge of Multicast network solutions and components e.g. MP-BGP, PIM, IGMPv2/v3
    • Familiarity with network macro-segmentation strategies, Zero Trust initiatives, and micro-segmentation solutions

    Desired Skills:
    • Familiarity with Cisco® Nexus platforms and VXLAN EVPN fabric topologies
    • Familiarity with Cisco® Secure Firewall and Firewall Management Center platforms
