Our client is an established technology solutions and managed services firm serving the New York metropolitan region. They work on network infrastructure projects and multi-year programs for enterprise clients in the Mid-Hudson and Western CT region, and they are building a dedicated on-site team. You would join as a full-time W-2 employee of our client.

Compensation
Base salary of $85,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience. Full-time W-2 employment with medical, dental, and retirement benefits.

Job Location
On site in Putnam County, New York (Hudson Valley) and Western Connecticut. Travel between campuses is expected. This role is not remote.

Role Summary
You will do the hands-on network engineering work on a multi-year infrastructure program for a large regional health system. The program centers on a large-scale network re-engineering effort across hospital, clinic, and administrative sites. Work runs across multiple campuses, in Putnam County, New York and Western Connecticut. Clinical environments run around the clock, so cutover work happens inside tight, planned maintenance windows.

Day to day, you will configure and deploy switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewall rules, execute assigned changes inside maintenance windows, and keep the existing network healthy while the program runs. Senior engineers set the design. You build it, test it, and hand the site back clean.

This is one of two openings at this level.

Responsibilities

• Configure and deploy switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewall rules under the direction of senior engineers.
• Execute assigned network changes during scheduled maintenance windows, and validate services before handing a site back to operations.
• Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, and wireless problems across sites, and escalate what you cannot resolve.
• Keep network documentation current: address plans, diagrams, port maps, and change records.
• Support upgrades and hardware refresh work as the program schedule requires.
• Respond to tickets and requests inside service targets, and keep requesters informed on status.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and work experience.
• Two to three years of hands-on enterprise network support experience.
• Working knowledge of routing, switching, and wireless technology, plus practical internet protocol subnetting skills.
• Willingness to work scheduled nights and weekends for cutover windows, on a planned rotation.
• Reliable transportation to sites in Putnam County, New York and Western Connecticut.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate certification preferred. Hospital or health system network experience is a plus.
