    Description

    Network Deployment Technician (Part-Time, Onsite)
    Location: Berkeley, CA
    Duration: 6-12 Month Contract
    Hours: 16-24 hours/week (primarily onsite)
    Start Date: September-October 2026
    Overview
    Client is seeking a part-time onsite Network Deployment Technician to support network infrastructure projects across campus and nearby facilities. This role will assist with network hardware deployments, inventory tracking, script execution, documentation, and record keeping in support of ongoing network modernization initiatives.
    Responsibilities
    • Perform rack and stack of network equipment in communications rooms and data center environments.
    • Install, label, cable, and organize network hardware and related infrastructure.
    • Execute predefined scripts and standardized deployment procedures.
    • Manage device inventory, asset tracking, and equipment reconciliation.
    • Maintain accurate deployment records, documentation, and project updates.
    • Assist with Juniper switch deployments and Aruba wireless infrastructure activities.
    • Coordinate with network engineering teams to support installation and migration efforts.
    • Travel between locations as needed.
    • Participate in occasional after-hours maintenance windows and cutover activities.
    Required Qualifications
    • Experience with rack and stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling.
    • Familiarity with network infrastructure environments and network equipment handling.
    • Experience maintaining inventory records and technical documentation.
    • Ability to follow deployment procedures and execute scripts accurately.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently in an onsite environment.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Juniper switching technologies.
    • Experience supporting Aruba wireless environments.
    • Previous experience supporting higher education, public sector, or large campus network environments.
    • Basic understanding of network concepts including switching, wireless, and IP networking.
