    Education and Experience: Associate''s degree in Information Technology and four years of experience in LAN/WAN or server hardware and software configuration. Graduate coursework or relevant experience may substitute per policy.

    Overview

    Under direction, this classification manages and maintains network systems in a data center environment. Plans and implements network security measures and provides advanced technical support for hardware, software, and networking equipment. Advanced-level position within the Network Data Center Operations series. Focuses on configuration, troubleshooting, training, and supporting security and performance across data center network infrastructure. This class differs from the Network Data Center Operations-Intermediate in that incumbents of the latter perform basic network operational duties in gathering data pertaining to customer needs and resolve enterprise network hardware, software and systems problems. This class differs from Network Data Center Operations Administrator-Lead in that an incumbent of the latter leads or supervises the enterprise network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.

    Responsibilities

    1. Analyze network usage, availability, and performance; troubleshoot system issues.

    2. Design and implement data center security measures and equipment configurations.

    3. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, or network issues using diagnostic tools.

    4. Configure routers, switches, load balancers, and related data center infrastructure.

    5. Maintain backup configurations, preventive maintenance, and restoration procedures.

    6. Develop documentation and provide training on data center systems and protocols.

    7. Support technology upgrades and network expansion projects through testing and installation.
