MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Network Architect to join our team in Laurel, MD.

You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Senior Network Engineer/Architect, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Compute Services.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to implement and maintain software-defined networking and hardware-independent networking technologies, such as hypervisor networking platforms.
  • Ability to serve as assistant architect for new network systems and topologies based on unique requirements as needed. Integrates customer network needs, security restrictions, and physical and logical constraints to design new network layouts. Combines existing technologies and techniques with innovative solutions to address unusual networking scenarios.
  • Designs, plans & oversee the implementation of voice, data, & video communication cable and hardware, e.g., switches, routers, gateway or functional servers, to support requirements of the scope and scale consistent with campus or system wide networks.
  • Troubleshoots and performs corrective measures to resolve or avoid problems with voice, data or video networks within a range of environments across multiple remote locations and including operational international links.
  • Participates in the establishment and enforcement of security procedures to mitigate or isolate the impact of network intrusions, attacks or other incidents from external resources.
  • Conducts site surveys and collects customer requirements related to complex or unique network design, implementation and problem resolution efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years OR associate's degree with 15 years OR 20 years with a high school diploma and related experience
  • Knowledge of Arista, Aruba, Plexxi, F5 load balancers, and Dell networking devices.
  • Familiar with STE/STN requirements to meet STIG/Security mandates and the utilization of Nessus Security Center.
  • Familiar with hardware-independent networking technologies, such as hypervisor networking platforms
  • Familiar with tools for monitoring network performance such as CloudVision, MFNA (Microfocus network automation), and WhatsUp Gold
  • Ability to provide recommendations and critical reviews of network or network service design, maintenance and implementation, including operational considerations, based on customer requirements, operational experience, and technical knowledge.
  • Ability to provide advice and guidance regarding network services to non-technical administrators and program managers, including program executives.
  • Based on program and technical requirements, evaluates and recommends appropriate hardware, software and services solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Provides advice & guidance to IT peers & subordinates regarding complex network design, monitoring, maintenance and implementation, consistent with the general principles followed within campus networks & generally accepted industry best practices.
  • Ability to coordinate and integrate the efforts of other IT professional staff, including contractors, for efforts of varying size and complexity, including operational services by carriers and long-term contract service providers.
  • Based on program and technical requirements, can evaluate and recommend appropriate hardware, software and services solutions.
  • Ability to investigate techniques and strategies utilized by other installations, especially higher education institutions, by participating in various professional organizations.
  • Regularly monitors relevant forums where job related issues are announced and discussed, stays informed of related problems/issues as they appear & are announced; passes on technical comments & suggestions that may be beneficial to colleagues.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
