Duration: 6–8 month contract, with strong potential for extension
Location: Washington, D.C. metropolitan area strongly preferred; remote candidates may be considered
Schedule: Full-time
Clearance/Access: Must be eligible to obtain a VA Red Badge for facility access
Compensation range: hourly $92 - $100/hour

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect / Network Architect with strong expertise in both Juniper and Cisco environments to support a large-scale network architecture engagement.

The consultant will be responsible for helping design and implement a network architecture spanning a Juniper core and Cisco edge environment while working closely with the Cisco CX team throughout the engagement.

This is a highly technical consulting role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record leading complex enterprise network deployments and the ability to work effectively with both the client and technology teams while maintaining an objective, consultative approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise network architecture spanning Juniper core and Cisco edge environments
  • Lead and support large-scale network architecture and deployment initiatives
  • Work closely with the Cisco CX team
  • Evaluate existing network environments and develop scalable architecture solutions
  • Provide technical guidance across Juniper and Cisco networking technologies
  • Translate business and technical requirements into practical network architecture and implementation plans
  • Support network design, integration, migration, and implementation activities
  • Troubleshoot complex architecture and interoperability issues across multi-vendor environments
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders, engineers, architects, and technology partners
  • Provide clear technical recommendations and documentation
  • Act as a trusted, impartial consultant focused on the client's technical requirements and overall solution architecture

Required Qualifications

  • Strong enterprise network architecture and engineering background
  • Proven hands-on experience with Juniper and Cisco networking technologies
  • Experience designing and implementing large-scale Juniper and Cisco network environments
  • Strong understanding of multi-vendor enterprise network architectures
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex network deployments or transformation initiatives
  • Ability to work effectively with highly technical client teams
  • Strong consulting and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to evaluate competing technical requirements and develop objective solutions
  • Excellent communication and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple technical teams
  • Must be eligible to obtain a VA Red Badge for facility access
