This is a permanent full-time 40 hours per week position with the Bureau of Information and Technology for a Network Administrator. For more information on the Bureau of Information and Technology, please visit https://bit.sd.gov/.
This position will configure, install, and maintain edge network devices such as routers, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, wireless bridges, and cellular boosters from vendors Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti, and various others that are owned or supported by the State of South Dakota. Overnight travel will be required at times to diagnose problems, install hardware, and meet with clients. Representing BIT at monthly meetings, trainings, presentations, and site visits is also required. This position will work out of the BIT office in Sioux Falls, SD. Hybrid work from home (maximum of 2 days per week) will be considered but not guaranteed after 12 months of employment, but this position is not eligible for full-time remote.
