JOB SUMMARY:

You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Sotera Health network infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable operations. This role builds on foundational network support experience and includes increased ownership of network systems, independent troubleshooting, and active participation in infrastructure projects. You will work closely with senior network staff while contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of network services across the enterprise.

Essential job functions:

  • Provide Tier 2 support for network and telecommunications systems, troubleshooting and resolving connectivity, performance, and configuration issues.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain network hardware and software, including switches, routers, wireless systems, firewalls, and related infrastructure components.
  • Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and addressing issues to minimize downtime and service disruption.
  • Participate in the implementation of network upgrades, patches, and infrastructure changes in accordance with IT change management processes.
  • Assist in the design and improvement of network solutions to support business requirements and evolving infrastructure needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support network-related projects, contributing to planning, execution, and validation of implemented solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and business stakeholders to support operational and project-based initiatives.
  • Act as an escalation point for junior staff on routine issues and provide guidance as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors for basic support cases, hardware replacements, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements in all network-related activities.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support IT infrastructure and business operations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent experience in enterprise network environments will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or similar are highly desirable.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in enterprise network administration, infrastructure support, or IT operations.
  • Strong understanding of core networking concepts, including switching, routing, TCP/IP, wireless networking, and basic firewall configurations.
  • Experience managing and supporting enterprise network environments, including LAN/WAN and wireless infrastructure.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve network issues using established tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring, performance analysis, and basic capacity planning.
  • Working knowledge of network security principles, including segmentation, access control, and secure configurations.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure changes and participating in project-based work.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills to maintain accurate system records and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical teams and business users.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and take on increasing responsibility with limited supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain seated or stand at a computer workstation for the majority of the workday, with occasional movement between office and lab environments.
  • Ability to lift and move network equipment as needed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel to sites to support network installations, troubleshooting, and project work (up to 20%).
