Education – bachelor’s degree in computer science, Management of Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent education and work experience.
Experience – Three to five years of relevant work experience is required.
Licenses & Certification – Incumbent must be insurable and valid Oklahoma Driver’s License is required. Cisco CCNA, MCSE, A+ Network, or Citrix certification is a plus. Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge & Skills –
The purpose of this position is to provide expertise and support in areas of Local and Wide Area Networking services for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Department of Health. Incumbent reports directly to the Medical Informatics Manager.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment operating computers and other office equipment. Driving GSA vehicle to other facilities to perform duties is required.
Work requires the demands of normal office work and the demands required to install or perform maintenance on equipment and hardware. Incumbent must be able to lift objects of at least 50 pounds. Driving to other MCNDH facilities is required in the performance of duties.
Satisfactory job performance will be determined by successful execution of the following:
Oversees the maintenance of both LAN and WAN
Research, test, evaluate and recommend voice and data telecommunications hardware and software and telecommunications systems and products: Identifies areas of operation which need upgraded equipment, such as modems, routers, switches, etc.
Manages LAN security monitors network performance
Manages the deployment of appropriate security patches, hot fixes and software updates.
Manages licenses for all operating system related software.
Performs network backup according to a regular schedule.
Participates in the development of policies, procedures and resources that standardize the functioning of the network and enforces IT network standards.
Keeps up to date documentation of applications, systems and network equipment.
Collaborate with IT staff on projects and issues regarding network resources.
Keep abreast of current and ongoing voice and data telecommunication and network technology in order to provide state-of-the-art operations equipment for the MCNDH.
Regular attendance is required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
