Position: Network Administrator
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Reports to: Network Manager
Job Summary:
The Network Administrator manages and maintains computer networks, ensures secure connectivity, troubleshoots performance issues, and supports daily IT operations across the organization.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Install and configure network hardware and software
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues
- Manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and Wi-Fi systems
- Maintain network security and access controls
- Perform backups and disaster recovery planning
- Support users with connectivity and network-related problems
- Document network configurations and updates
- Assist with training and mentoring technical support staff
- Maintains Active Directory Environment
- Maintains Backup Infrastructure as well monitor and ensure all backups complete successfully.
- Restore Data from backups as needed
- Test, Install and upgrade Server & Client Applications
- Maintain, update Firewall and other security devices and applications
- Maintain, update, and configure E-mail servers and application
- Maintain, update, and configure Telephony systems and handsets
- Assist in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Participate on committees, in special projects, and attends meetings and seminars.
- Completes all other assignments or duties designated as appropriate to position.

Skills Required
- Competent understanding of LAN and WAN
- Experienced server installation and support
- Developed problem solving and analyzing abilities
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Punctual, responsible, and self-motivated
- Competent working knowledge of Active Directory
- Advanced user support skills
- Cultural Competence
Working Conditions
- Generally working in a professional office environment
- Job requires flexibility and ability to travel as responsibilities are agency wide: main
duties to be performed on Royal Oak campus. Other sites include Wayne,
Oakland, Livingston, Macomb and Washtenaw Counties. - Evening and weekend hours as needed
