    NetOps Specialist Jr

    Locations: Pearl Harbor, HI and Norfolk, VA

    Position Overview

    The NetOps Specialist Jr will support day-to-day network and infrastructure operations within a mission-critical environment. This position is responsible for monitoring network systems, responding to alerts and incidents, troubleshooting infrastructure issues, coordinating repairs, and ensuring incidents are properly documented and communicated through resolution.

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on network operations or NOC experience, experience working with ticketing and monitoring systems, and a foundational understanding of enterprise networking.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor network and infrastructure systems and respond appropriately to alerts, alarms, and operational events.

    • Respond to incidents from initial triage through resolution.

    • Escalate incidents to higher-level technical teams when appropriate.

    • Troubleshoot network and infrastructure connectivity issues.

    • Coordinate and direct remote repair activities to maintain operational availability of services.

    • Support infrastructure repairs and restoration activities.

    • Perform and document root cause analysis in accordance with Government procedures.

    • Provide data center support when required.

    • Document daily shift activities within designated reporting and ticketing systems.

    • Maintain detailed incident and troubleshooting records.

    • Conduct proper shift turnover/pass-down of unresolved incidents and outstanding issues.

    • Provide incident notifications and status updates to Government representatives.

    • Work within established operational procedures, escalation processes, and service-level requirements.

    Required Certification

    • CompTIA Security+

    Preferred Certification

    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) (Must obtain within 6 months of starting)

    Ideal Candidate Background

    Strong candidates will typically have experience with:

    • Network Operations Center (NOC) environments

    • Network monitoring and alert response

    • Incident triage and troubleshooting

    • Layer 1 3 networking fundamentals

    • TCP/IP

    • LAN/WAN environments

    • Routers and switches

    • Cisco networking equipment

    • Network outages and service restoration

    • Ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy

    • Network monitoring tools

    • Incident escalation

    • Root cause analysis

    • Data center operations

    • Shift work and operational handoffs

    • Supporting Government or DoD networks
