Job Summary:

Unique opportunity for work/life balance just 22 miles from the sandy beaches of South Padre Island!

Valley Regional Medical Center is assisting a well established neonatology group practice to recruit a new neonatologist to their team.  Three neonatologists currently cover two Level III NICUs along with L/D and Newborn Nursery service.  Call is from home, while experienced NNPs provide 24/7 in-house coverage.  Both NICUs have highly engaged service lines, with a commitment to providing quality, compassionate care.  Full time/Part time available.

About the Practice:
  • Practice has served the South Texas/Brownsville market for 35 years.
  • Physicians typically work from 7 am - 5 pm (shorter shifts when working weekends)
  • 3 or 4 calls from home per week of service (3 calls one week, 4 calls the following week), the practice covers 2 weeks on / one week completely off, with call including both hospitals, with 24/7 NNP in house coverage at both facilities.
  • The practice covers two Level 3 NICU's and their respective routine nurseries.  Equal time is spent at both facilities (3 days at one, 4 days at the other) per week.
  • Average deliveries combined is about 4,000 per year.
  • Typical NICU census is 10 at Valley Regional, 12 at Valley Baptist
