The Department of Pediatrics at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank faculty member to serve the clinical and educational missions of the Division of Neonatology.

The division is based at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) in Tampa, FL. TGH is a 1,018-bed teaching hospital affiliated with the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine. It is a private not-for-profit hospital and one of the most comprehensive medical facilities in west central Florida, serving a dozen counties with a population of over 4 million. In addition to being a Level 1 trauma center, it also has a Level 3 NICU.

The 82-bed Jennifer Leigh Muma NICU is a designated Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center designated by the State of Florida to deliver the highest level of medical care to premature and sick infants, and to women with high-risk pregnancies. USF/TGH Neonatology also participates in the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative, a statewide initiative to improve maternal and infant health outcomes in Florida.

We are seeking a dedicated physician-preferably with expertise in Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD)-to join our team. This position may also include serving as BPD Physician Lead to Tampa General Hospital, with opportunities to lead program development, quality initiatives, and strategic growth.

Minimum Requirements

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • BC/BE in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • For Associate/Full Professor-normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.

Additional Requirements

  • Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required.
  • To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full, unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties.
  • The candidate will participate in the teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.
  • MUST BE BOARD CERTIFIED/ELIGIBLE IN: Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
  • Preferred: 5 years of professional neonatal/perinatal medicine experience. Experience with the national BPD collaborative.
