Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation and treatment of neonates in the RNICU in collaboration with the Neonatologists.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • Neonatal Resuscitation Program completion • BLS • Maintenance of certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with a national certification and advanced training in neonatal medicine • Completion of hospital credentialing Work Experience None Education • RN with current Michigan License • Minimal completion of a Bachelor of Science of Nursing • Completion of neonatal nurse practitioner approved program • Preferred - Masters in Pediatric or Maternal Child nursing Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate nursing and medical interventions • Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other Hospital Associates • Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of this position • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
