Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Responsible for providing assessment, evaluation and treatment of neonates in the RNICU in collaboration with the Neonatologists.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • Demonstrates knowledge and maintains and respects patient right to privacy by following the HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures. • Adheres to ICARE values and standards of behavior (Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence). • Role model behaviors that value the diversity of our caregivers, patients and customers and supports creating an environment that is inclusive, welcoming and respectful. • Communicates with patients, families and customers using AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank). • Works in a safe manner and promptly reports any hazards identified in the work environment or related to assigned responsibilities. • Adheres to policies and procedures designed to avoid, prevent and reduce the spread of communicable diseases. Work Experience • Minimum of 3 years NNP/PA experience • Previous lead experience. Preferred. Education • Graduate of an accredited PA or NNP program • Current NP licensure in State of MI Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, normal maternal / fetal growth and development, and requirements of Advanced practice provider practice. • Able to independently seek out resources and solve complex problems. • Able to communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others. • Able to use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, perform health assessments, treatment, and follow-up. • Able to use fine motor skills. • Able to record activities, document assessments & interventions; prepare reports and presentations. • Able to use computer and learn new software programs. • Able to provide leadership in clinical area of expertise and in meeting organizational goals • Able to navigate the Hospital and DUHS to provide clinical expertise to specific patient populations • Able to withstand prolonged standing and walking with the ability to move or lift at least fifty pounds • Able to remain focused and organized • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
