A 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso, TX is seeking a Neonatal ICU Director. The hospital is home to a Level III trauma center, a Level 3 NICU, and the region's only kidney transplant center, and provides a full range of services including women's services, pediatric care, cardiac care, and cancer care.
The role. Reporting to the Administrative Director, the NICU Director oversees approximately 60 FTEs across a 35-bed NICU with 8 overflow beds and is responsible for 24-hour coverage and problem resolution for the NICU, Transition Nursery, and NICU Transport. The Director develops, supervises, and administers neonatal and NICU transport services while promoting multidisciplinary coordination across nursing, medicine, respiratory care, laboratory, and pharmacy. This role carries full budget accountability — developing, monitoring, appraising, and analyzing budgetary goals and outcomes for both the NICU and Transition Nursery — and leads capital resource planning in conjunction with the Administrative Director. The Director also administers Quality Improvement initiatives and manages all Human Resources processes for the unit, including hiring, evaluating, counseling, coaching, and staff development.
