NDT Level II Inspector

Job summary 

The NDT Level II Inspector is responsible for ensuring that inspections are performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instruction, NDI Manual of GA Telesis and/or ASTM requirements as applicable.

  Responsibilities/daily tasks

•  Perform NDI inspection which he is authorized, trained, qualified and certified to perform
•  Maintain NDI equipment, materials and tools in serviceable condition with calibration and periodic checks and follow a control of these parts
•  Maintain proficiency in using inspection aid in their assigned area of responsibility
•  Ensure equipment, materials and tools used for NDI inspection are those recommended by manufacturer’s manuals, work orders, task cards, ADs, SBs, etc.
•  Verify that routine inspections and checks to the NDI equipment are accomplished as per the manufacturer’s instructions
•  Ensure results of all NDI inspections are recorded, identified, and filed
•  Evaluate and certify NDI inspections through manufacturer’s manuals, work orders, task cards, ADs, SBs, etc.
•  Complete the NDI daily log
•  Maintain the work area clean and orderly
•  Be familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility
•  Maintaining proficiency in using the inspection aids in their assigned area of responsibility
•  Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids used to perform inspections, are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed
•  Understanding the current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article(s) being inspected
•  Ensuring all inspections are properly performed and recorded

  Qualifications

1. Certified in accordance with ASNT Personnel Qualification SNT-TC-1A and/or NAS 410 as revised.
2. Certified in Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II in accordance with SNT-TC-1A
3. Certified in Magnetic Particle Inspection Level II in accordance with SNT-TC-1A
