Environment Management: Oversee and maintain the health and status of various application environments, including web layer configuration and operating system management (Red Hat Linux/CentOS, AIX, Windows Servers). - Build Tools & Version Control: Use and maintain build/deployment tools (Ant, Maven, Ivy) and version control systems (Bitbucket/Git), including branching and merging strategies.

Job Summary (List Format): System Administrator DHHS-ITD (NCFAST Application)

- Support Application Portfolio: Provide system administration support for the build, deployment, implementation, and maintenance of NCFAST and Child Welfare portfolio applications.
- Build & Deploy Management: Prepare and execute build scripts, manage and troubleshoot build and deployment processes across multiple test, development, and production environments.
- Environment Management: Oversee and maintain the health and status of various application environments, including web layer configuration and operating system management (Red Hat Linux/CentOS, AIX, Windows Servers).
- Application Server Administration: Administer J2EE applications in WebSphere Application Server (WAS 8/9), Apache Tomcat, and JBoss, including clustering and IBM IHS Web Server configuration.
- Technical Consultation: Advise developers and solution engineers on code branches, merges, environment maintenance, and build/deploy troubleshooting.
- Configuration Management: Manage container resources (JDBC, JMS, etc.), security configurations, and web/application server setups (including virtual hosts, clustering, load-balancing).
- Automation & Scripting: Utilize automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, UNIX shell scripts, Perl, Python) to streamline OS and application platform tasks.
- Build Tools & Version Control: Use and maintain build/deployment tools (Ant, Maven, Ivy) and version control systems (Bitbucket/Git), including branching and merging strategies.
- Cloud Platform Exposure (Preferred): Experience and/or certification in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
- Collaboration: Work in close coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient application operations.
- Compliance: Adhere to organizational, security, and operational policies and requirements as specified by DHHS-ITD.

Required Experience:
- 5+ years in J2EE application administration (WebSphere, Tomcat, JBoss)
- 5+ years with AIX, RHEL, Windows server OS
- 5+ years in J2EE hosting, VM tuning, application tracing/debugging, deployment
- 3+ years with build/deployment tools (Ant, Maven, Ivy)
- 2+ years with automation/scripting (Ansible, shell, Perl, Python)
- 2+ years in clustering/load-balancing, container and security configuration
- 1+ year with Bitbucket/Git configuration, branching, and merging

Preferred/Highly Desired:
- Cloud platform experience/certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong understanding of automation for software build and deployment
