Job Summary (in list format):
- Serve as a Senior Enterprise Network Engineer for the NC FAST program within the NC Department of Health and Human Services.
- Provide expert support for networking and firewall rule configuration to enable application connectivity in hybrid cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-premises environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues related to networking and security.
- Create, implement, and manage firewall rules for various environments, with extensive experience in Palo Alto VM Series firewalls and Panorama.
- Collaborate with Operations and Cloud teams to support networking needs and resolve issues.
- Design, implement, and support cloud networking components, including VPCs, subnets, routing protocols, transit gateways, and load balancing.
- Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot network performance issues, such as high utilization, slowness, and unexpected latency.
- Apply security best practices and implement security controls within AWS cloud environments.
- Configure and manage VPN technologies, including IPsec and SSL.
- Handle large TCP/IP networks, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Manage core network services, including DNS, DHCP, name services, IP assignments, and IPAM technologies.
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills to address complex cloud networking issues.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Possess strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure components (compute, storage, network management, and monitoring), as well as familiarity with WAF as a Service (AWS, Azure, GCP).
