NC DHHS Technical Lead - AWS/ETL

Guide teams in building and maintaining high-volume AWS-based ETL data pipelines and managing transactional/RDMS databases. - Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to deliver robust data solutions.

Job Summary (List Format):

- Serve as Technical Lead supporting the Project Manager and Technical Project Manager for the Division of Public Health's Data Modernization Initiative.
- Oversee technical responsibilities across multiple data modernization pipelines, ensuring successful execution of technical project aspects.
- Provide expertise in modernizing legacy applications, including migration and refactoring to cloud environments (primarily AWS).
- Mentor and guide development teams, conduct thorough code reviews, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules, high-quality coding standards, and efficient, reliable software delivery.
- Act as intermediary between developers, product managers, and stakeholders, translating requirements into actionable technical tasks.
- Implement best practices and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and develop effective modernization strategies.
- Support the design, development, and testing of Java-based, cloud-native applications and backend systems.
- Guide teams in building and maintaining high-volume AWS-based ETL data pipelines and managing transactional/RDMS databases.
- Lead efforts in data modeling, validation, and integrity through SQL queries and ETL processes.
- Assist with the use of DevOps practices, automation tools, and cloud-based ETL tools to optimize development and deployment.
- Monitor application performance and optimize for cost, security, and reliability.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges and ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and stakeholders, to deliver robust data solutions.
- (Preferred) Experience with data analytics tools (Power BI, AWS QuickSight), AWS Certification, and state government environments.
