    POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    This position will assist and guide Afghan patients through the refugee medical screening process, ensuring that patients are able to access and keep medical appointments. This position will work closely with Local Resettlement Agencies, Community Based Organizations, and the refugee clinic staff to create a plan of care for refugee medical screening patients that coordinates any additional healthcare needs, insurance assistance, or health education required by the patient.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, health education or related field of study is required. Four years’ experience in the area of health education, public health, social work and/or case management may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge and experience of Afghan culture and lived experience as an immigrant preferred. Proficiency in English, and bilingual ability in Pashto, Dari, and/or Urdu is required.

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

    A valid Texas State DL operator’s license “Class C” and must maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
