Job Description

The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land & Water, is recruiting for a Natural Resource Manager 1 in Anchorage.

This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

What You Will Be Doing:

Are you ready to take on an exciting leadership role in shaping Alaskas future? We are looking for a dynamic, visionary leader to direct and inspire a team of land management professionals who oversee the General Leasing and Material Sale Programs. This position is a program manager responsible for managing the State of Alaskas resources. The NRM 1 position works on the General Leasing and Material Sale teams with the NRM 2 and seven Natural Resource Specialists, enhancing the quality of life for present and future Alaskans.

DMLW's mission is "to provide for the appropriate use and management of Alaskas state-owned land and water, aiming toward maximum use consistent with the public interest." SCRO contributes to these missions by issuing land-use authorizations that enable responsible development and use of state land while facilitating economic growth consistent with the public interest. This position has a direct impact on facilitating land use and development for the economic health of the State and its citizens while also balancing the stewardship role inherent in managing public lands in trust for the public.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

This position is located in downtown Anchorage. SCRO is a positive atmosphere geared towards collaboration and teamwork. The Anchorage office has a beautiful view of the Chugach Mountain Range, is near a wide range of services, the park strip, and the Coastal Trail system.

Normal business hours are 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, and this position currently requires an 8-hour daily work schedule, with options for an alternate workweek and part-time telework.

Definitions:
