JOB DESCRIPTION

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking an experienced National EHS Manager to lead the Environmental, Health, and Safety program supporting our nationwide portfolio of hyperscale and enterprise data center operations. This role will serve as the senior safety leader for programs spanning data center deployments, rack landing and rack-and-stack activities, liquid cooling installations, structured cabling and fiber infrastructure, network operations, managed services, break/fix support, logistics, and other mission-critical technical services. This role requires the ability to represent the company with executive leadership, hyperscaler safety teams, regulators, and senior customer stakeholders during audits, incidents, and business reviews

The National EHS Manager will develop and implement consistent EHS standards, ensure regulatory and customer compliance, strengthen incident prevention and risk management practices, and build a proactive safety culture across geographically dispersed teams. This individual will partner closely with customer stakeholders, operations leadership, delivery teams, recruiting, workforce management, training, and executive leadership. The successful candidate will combine strategic program ownership with hands-on field engagement and will build a scalable EHS operating model capable of supporting rapid growth, large workforce mobilizations, and multiple concurrent customer programs across the United States.

As a consulting position, the work location for this role varies according to client needs. Accordingly, this is not a remote position. While some assignments may be performed largely remotely, other assignments require fully on-site work, hybrid work, and/or travel.

National EHS Program Leadership

  • Own and lead the national EHS program for all data center operations and service delivery activities.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, standards, procedures, governance, and training programs.
  • Establish consistent safety practices across customer engagements, operating locations, and technical service lines.
  • Advise operations and executive leadership on health, safety, environmental, compliance, and operational risk matters.
  • Build a proactive culture centered on hazard recognition, stop-work authority, accountability, workforce engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop a scalable EHS model that supports rapid growth, new site launches, and large workforce mobilizations.

Operational Safety Oversight

  • Build, lead, and develop a national EHS team and site-level safety support model
  • Provide EHS leadership for deployments, rack landing, rack-and-stack, liquid cooling, fiber and structured cabling, network operations, managed services, break/fix, logistics, and field service activities.
  • Conduct and oversee site audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, safety observations, and field inspections.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with OSHA requirements, customer standards, company policies, approved work methods, and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Review safety plans, JHAs, permits, SOPs, MOPs, CMOPs, and other operational documentation for appropriate risk controls.
  • Oversee controls for electrical safety, lockout/tagout, fall protection, ladders, aerial lifts, material handling, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, and other high-risk activities as applicable.
  • Partner with program and site leaders to address hazards, reinforce standards, and verify corrective actions.

Customer & Compliance Management

  • Serve as the primary EHS interface with hyperscaler and enterprise customer safety organizations.
  • Support customer onboarding, site readiness reviews, audits, inspections, business reviews, and compliance qualification requirements.
  • Maintain readiness for customer and regulatory inspections and ensure timely response to findings.
  • Monitor contractual and customer-specific safety obligations to ensure consistent program compliance.
  • Coordinate corrective action and compliance remediation plans with operations, delivery, and customer stakeholders.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate applicable requirements into company standards and field practices.

Incident Management & Risk Mitigation

  • Lead investigations involving injuries, illnesses, near misses, vehicle events, property damage, environmental events, and safety concerns.
  • Apply structured root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Ensure accurate, timely incident reporting, documentation, escalation, and follow-through.
  • Analyze leading and lagging indicators to identify trends, recurring exposures, and emerging risks.
  • Develop lessons learned communications and share preventive actions across programs and locations.
  • Partner with leadership to reduce operational risk before work begins and throughout program execution.

Training & Workforce Development

  • Develop and oversee a national EHS training and qualification program for employees and contingent workforces.
  • Partner with recruiting, onboarding, workforce management, and operations to verify safety readiness before deployment.
  • Ensure completion of company and customer-required safety training and certifications.
  • Coach managers and operational leaders on safety leadership, field engagement, incident response, and accountability.
  • Establish consistent toolbox talks, safety meetings, communications, and workforce engagement activities.
  • Maintain training records and monitor compliance across locations and customer programs.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish national EHS scorecards, dashboards, operating rhythms, and executive reporting.
  • Monitor TRIR, DART, near misses, safety observations, training compliance, audit findings, and corrective action closure.
  • Present safety performance, major risks, trends, and mitigation plans to company leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Use data and field observations to prioritize continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive consistent accountability for EHS performance across programs and operating teams.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 8+ years of Environmental, Health, and Safety experience.
  • 5+ years leading multi-site or geographically dispersed EHS programs.
  • Experience supporting data centers, mission-critical facilities, construction, telecommunications, utilities, industrial services, technical field operations, or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements, safety management systems, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience building, standardizing, and improving EHS programs across multiple locations or customer engagements.
  • Experience working directly with customer safety teams, operational leaders, and regulatory representatives.
  • Strong leadership, communication, program management, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Location: Louisiana with the ability to travel 40-60% throughout the United States and respond to operational needs as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting hyperscale data center environments.
  • Experience with data center deployments, rack landing, liquid cooling, structured cabling, fiber, network operations, managed services, or technical field services.
  • Experience overseeing EHS programs for large technical workforces operating across multiple states.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification.
  • OSHA 30 and OSHA 500 or equivalent trainer credentials.
  • Experience with electrical safety, powered access equipment, contractor safety, environmental compliance, and mission-critical operations.
  • Experience supporting greenfield campus launches, rapidly scaling programs, or large workforce mobilizations.
  • PMP or equivalent program management certification.
