We are seeking a National Director of Health Information Management to join our team!
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies (TJC, CMS) regarding Health Information Management coding and operations. Develop, implement and monitor policies and procedures regarding patient records such that patient information requirements are met and appropriate documentation is available for both patient care and reimbursement. Ensure effective customer service is provided to patients, clinicians and other departments.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Health Information Management from an accredited institution.
- Licensure/Certification: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician with a Bachelors Degree required).
- At least ten years in HIM leadership experience in a healthcare facility required.
- Experience in multi-hospital healthcare system at corporate level required.
- Experience with health information systems (EMR, Meditech, 3M, EPIC, etc.) required.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
- Significant understanding and demonstrated knowledge of health information management programs including medical terminology, ICD-10 CM\PCS coding and CPT coding.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state and Joint Commission requirements.
- Active participation in Revenue Cycle Operations
- Ability to gather and analyze and report data and trends.
- Comprehensive knowledge of confidentiality and privacy laws.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Exemplary customer service, communication and interpersonal skills are absolutely imperative.
- Demonstrated positive personal influences on teams and customers including the willingness to accept change proactively.
- Must be flexible and responsive to needs of organization and possess ability to balance the needs of multiple priorities.
