The American Diabetes Association is seeking a National Director, Field Campaign & Market Growth, to join our Field Campaign and Community Initiatives team who will report to the Vice President, Core Campaigns. The National Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategy for ADA's Tour de Cure, Step Out Walk, State of Diabetes & Special Events including coaching on best practices and effective campaign implementation, with a key focus on recruiting and managing executive volunteers, driving campaign standards, and training in our market areas to deliver exponential growth. The National Director will collaborate with Territory Vice Presidents and Executive Directors to develop and drive campaign strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership & direction for ADA's Core Campaigns, Tour de Cure, Step Out Walk, State of Diabetes & Special Events.
- Provide ongoing, comprehensive and strategic planning for Core Campaigns to ensure revenue goals are achieved
- Proven track record of executing large-scale, seven-figure nonprofit peer to peer fundraising events
- Responsible for driving $10+ million through ADA's Core Campaigns, Tour de Cure, Step Out Walk, State of Diabetes & Special Events through market consulting
- Actively examine revenue and leadership trends within markets for opportunities and threats to ensure sustained year-over-year revenue growth and to shape overall campaign strategy
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of Tour de Cure, Step Out Walk, State of Diabetes & Special Events identifying areas for improvement and growth
- Ability to analyze data and trends to identify if the campaign is on target to achieve goal and work to ensure consistency and standardization of best practices
- In collaboration with VP and TVPs, establish event KPI metrics that effectively track market performance
- Lead strategy for coaching and training for development staff on campaign best practices
- Identify markets/campaigns for breakout revenue growth
- Oversee development of national materials and campaign tools for use by local markets
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Tour de Cure, Step Out Walk, State of Diabetes & special events for field staff
- Oversee the development and execution of market specific training for new hires & ongoing staff development
- Provide excellent customer service to markets in terms of responding to requests, answering questions, delivering materials and sharing best practices
- Working knowledge of sales cycles, best practices, strategies and analytics for diverse revenue lines including corporate, foundation, individual donors, and peer-to-peer events
- Continuously strive to enhance participant experiences on event days with knowledge of the Peer-to-Peer industry and trends
- Manage a team of National Managers, Field Campaign & Market Growth
- Travel is required for this position. Approximately 30%-40% per year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years experience in a leadership role including national campaign oversight
- 5+ years managing a peer-to-peer and/or endurance campaign/program
- Strategic thinker that can take broad visions and concepts and develop structured plans, actions and measurable metrics and then execute those plans
- Demonstrated success with securing and managing high level executive volunteers
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working in Salesforce, Microsoft programs & BBCRM
