Nanny / Household Assistant Position

A Darien family of three young boys (ages 4, 2.5, and 1) is looking for a part-time Household Assistant/Nanny to help with the household and childcare in the morning and early afternoon.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–1:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 32.5 hours

Position Overview
A Darien family of three young boys (ages 4, 2.5, and 1) is looking for a part-time Household Assistant/Nanny to help with the household and childcare in the morning and early afternoon. The children are home full-time, and two people cover the household each morning. You'll work alongside the family's full-time nanny. Your part covers household support, meal prep, and laundry, plus caring for one child at a time while the nanny is with the other two. The home has a very large backyard with a play pool and water table, plus two indoor playrooms, and the family values outdoor play year-round. There's no evening or night care in this role. The ideal candidate is organized, upbeat, physically active, comfortable with infants and toddlers, and communicates well as part of a household staff team.

Responsibilities:

• Household administration and organizational support
• Meal preparation, including breakfast and lunch support and advance food prep for the family's meals
• Kitchen support, including cleanup and running the dishwasher
• Family and children's laundry: washing, folding, and putting away (about one load daily)
• General household tidying and upkeep, indoors and outdoors
• Provide one-on-one care for a single child while the nanny is with the other two
• Support age-appropriate play and routines, including outdoor time in the backyard
• Assist with the children's mealtimes and morning routines
• Coordinate with the nanny and household team on daily priorities

Requirements:

• Professional experience combining household support with childcare, or comparable background
• Confident caring for one young child at a time, including infants and toddlers
• Highly organized with strong follow-through
• Comfortable outdoors in all seasons
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Up to date on COVID-19 and flu vaccinations
• Punctual and reliable
• Strong, proactive communication skills
• Able to provide 3–5 professional references
