    Location: Los Altos, CA
    Compensation: $50–55+ per hour
    Commitment Level: Part-Time, Long-Term
    Guaranteed Hours: 25 hours per week
    Schedule: 2–3 weekday evenings, approx. 5:00 PM–9:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday, approx. 12:00 PM–8:00 PM
    Start Date: ASAP

    Position Overview

    A warm, thoughtful Los Altos family is seeking an experienced, career nanny to provide exceptional evening and weekend care for their toddler while offering thoughtful family assistant support. The family is intentionally seeking a seasoned childcare professional whose experience translates into exceptional judgment, confidence, and the ability to anticipate a child's needs while partnering seamlessly with parents.

    The ideal candidate is energetic, engaging, and genuinely enjoys spending time with young children through active play, enrichment, and meaningful connection. They bring calm professionalism into the home and naturally take initiative. Above all, they are looking for someone interested in building a long-term relationship and becoming a trusted extension of the family.

     

    Benefits

    • $50–55+ per hour, plus applicable overtime
    • 25 hours guaranteed per week

    Responsibilities

    Childcare & Development

    • Plan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors
    • Encourage learning through conversation, reading, music, exploration, and play
    • Prepare healthy meals and snacks for the child
    • Support bath time, evening routines, and bedtime
    • Communicate proactively with parents regarding routines, activities, and anything noteworthy

    Family Assistant Support

    • Help organize child-related spaces, clothing, toys, and gear
    • Anticipate child-related needs and provide thoughtful day-to-day family support
    • Assist with child-related laundry and light tidying/resetting of child spaces as needed
    • Assist with child-related groceries, supplies, and errands as needed
    • Work collaboratively with parents and existing household staff

    Requirements

    • Extensive experience caring for young children in private homes and/or high-quality early childhood settings
    •  Demonstrated success confidently managing evening routines and bedtime
    •  Anticipates needs before being asked and approaches each day with initiative
    •  Highly organized, dependable, and an excellent communicator
    •  Values consistency and is excited to build a long-term relationship with one family
    •  Flexibility to cover occasional date nights
    •  Open to occasional domestic travel
    •  Valid driver's license
    •  Current Infant/Child CPR & First Aid certification
    •  Up-to-date vaccinations
    •  Authorized to work in the United States
    •  Must be willing to sign an NDA
    •  Must be able to provide 3–5 professional references
